Companion Volunteers provide friendly, non-medical support to individuals who may benefit from social interaction and companionship. Volunteers play an important role in reducing isolation, promoting emotional well-being, and enhancing quality of life through meaningful engagement.
Responsibilities may include friendly conversation, shared activities such as games, reading, or crafts, assistance with light recreational activities, and offering encouragement and emotional support. Companion Volunteers do not provide personal care or medical assistance.
Ideal volunteers are compassionate, patient, reliable, and enjoy building positive relationships with others. Training and orientation are provided.
